Our Story

October 2009 was not a good month for me. I received the dreaded news from my doctor.  An anti-inflammatory diet, free from gluten, dairy, soy, potatoes, tomatoes, corn, sugar, and coffee was what my body needed. I kept thinking “What in the world was I supposed to eat?” And coffee-free?? For the love of Pete!

At that moment I had two choices – cold turkey, or slow and steady. Well, I’m a cold turkey kinda gal so leaving the doctor’s office I knew this was the beginning of a new chapter in our little family’s life. I decided to jump into the deep end with both feet. Due to the fact that I am the cook in the family, by default my husband and our two girls were going in with me!

What I wasn’t prepared for was the emotional withdrawals I’d have from the baked goods, pasta, pizza, dessert (I know you know what I’m talkin’ about here!) that I loved. Food was my comfort, an emotional boost, the center of family gatherings, and the focus of many gifts. Once I mourned this loss and wrapped my brain around the foods that I COULD eat, I started converting our favorites into gluten, dairy, and soy free recipes. And you know what? They’ve turned out delicious.

Inspired to share these recipes with you, Kember’s Gluten Free was born. We are committed to helping you on your venture through the land of dietary restrictions.  Striving to provide superior products, relevant information, and resources for your success!

It’s been a journey, with challenges along the way, but I can honestly say I wouldn’t go back to my gluten-full days if someone paid me. We are enjoying life to it’s fullest, fueled by tasty food that our bodies love. And that has made it worth the trip.
